How much does a funeral home website cost?

Why quotes vary so much, what you actually pay for and how to compare two offers fairly.

When you ask for website quotes, the prices can differ several times over. The reason is rarely “cheap” or “expensive”. It is almost always scope: what exactly is included and what is left to you.

What drives the price

  • The number of pages, and whether each service gets its own page
  • A bespoke design or a proven layout
  • Specialist features: obituaries, a product catalogue, several languages
  • Who writes the copy: you or the agency
  • Technical SEO and setting up the Google tools
  • Training after launch

What is often not included

Hosting and the domain are usually paid separately, every year. The same goes for maintenance: updates, backups and content changes. Ask about them explicitly so there are no surprises after launch.

How to compare two quotes

  • Ask for a list of pages, not just “a website of up to 10 pages”
  • Check that the website will be yours: domain, access details and content
  • Ask who will be able to publish obituaries and how long it takes
  • Look at the agency’s other websites on a phone
  • Clarify what happens after the first year

A reference point

Our packages start at €790 for smaller funeral homes and go up to bespoke projects with obituaries or a catalogue. The details are on our Pricing page. Whichever quote you choose, make sure it is in writing and clear about what you get.
