Each office has its own staff and vehicles. The 24/7 line is shared: a member of staff on call answers and sends the nearest team.

When someone has died far from home

We bring people home to Bulgaria from abroad, and take them from Bulgaria to their home country. We handle the paperwork, the consulate and the transport, and you have one named person to speak to throughout.

We contact the local funeral director and the Bulgarian consulate in that country. We meet the flight or the vehicle at the border and continue with the arrangements here.

Taking someone home from Bulgaria

If a relative or friend dies while on holiday or living in Bulgaria, we prepare the Bulgarian documents, arrange certified translations and work with your embassy and the funeral director who will receive them at home.

  1. First call

    You call the 24/7 line. We take the details and tell you what, if anything, we need from you.

  2. Documents and consulate

    We file the paperwork, arrange translations and stay in touch with the consulates of both countries.

  3. Transport

    By air or by road, depending on the distance and the requirements. We confirm the arrival time with you.

  4. Arrival and funeral

    We meet the arrival and, if you wish, arrange the funeral or cremation in the home town.

It usually takes from a few days to around two weeks. The timing depends on the country and on the authorities involved.

We liaise with the consulates

We deal with the authorities so that you do not have to. We speak with the family in the language they are most comfortable with.

Which number should I call at night?

000 0000 0000. The line is shared by all three offices and is always answered by a member of staff on call. You can also call the office in the relevant city directly.

We live abroad. Can we arrange everything remotely?

Yes. We keep in touch by phone, e-mail, WhatsApp or video call, in English or Bulgarian. Anything that needs a signature we arrange with you in advance.

How much does repatriation cost?

It depends on the country, the distance and the type of transport. After the first call we send you a written quote, with no hidden costs.

Do you work with funeral directors in other countries?

Yes. We coordinate with the funeral director chosen by the family in the receiving country, so the handover is arranged before the journey begins.
